Funding Your Rehabilitation
Understanding your funding options
At RehabX, we support clients, families, support coordinators, care partners, case managers and referrers to understand the funding options that may be available for neurological, neuromuscular and complex rehabilitation.
Your funding pathway may depend on your condition, goals, referral source, eligibility, plan type and the services you need. Our team can help you understand the next step and guide you through what information may be required.
Whether you are accessing rehabilitation through the NDIS, aged care funding, NIISQ, WorkCover, Medicare, DVA, private payment or another funding pathway, we are here to help make the process as simple and supportive as possible.
Funding Options
-
RehabX may support eligible NDIS participants with therapy services linked to their goals, function and disability-related needs.
Depending on your plan and funding arrangements, you may be able to access services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, speech pathology, podiatry, rehabilitation gym programs and technology-assisted rehabilitation where appropriate.
Our team can work with participants, families, support coordinators and plan managers to help clarify service agreements, therapy goals, reporting requirements and appointment planning.
-
Aged care funding may help older Australians access rehabilitation and allied health services that support mobility, independence, safety and quality of life.
At RehabX, we may support aged care clients with strength, balance, walking, falls prevention, equipment needs, communication, swallowing, endurance and confidence with movement.
We can work with clients, families, aged care providers and care coordinators to help plan therapy around individual goals and funding arrangements.
-
The National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland (NIISQ) may support eligible people who require rehabilitation following a serious motor vehicle accident in Queensland.
At RehabX, rehabilitation may focus on mobility, strength, balance, endurance, arm and hand function, independence and meaningful participation in daily life. Where clinically appropriate and approved, technology-assisted rehabilitation may form part of a broader rehabilitation program.
-
Many clients choose to access RehabX services through private payment. This may be suitable if you do not currently have funding, are waiting for funding approval, wish to start rehabilitation sooner, or would like additional therapy beyond your funded supports
Private payment provides flexibility in choosing the type, frequency and focus of your rehabilitation program.
-
Some clients may be eligible for Medicare rebates for selected allied health services through a GP referral pathway.
While Medicare rebates generally do not cover the full cost of intensive or technology-assisted rehabilitation, they may help reduce out-of-pocket expenses for eligible clients.
Ask your GP who can advise whether you may be eligible for a Medicare allied health referral.
-
RehabX may support eligible veterans and DVA card holders where services are clinically appropriate and available under DVA arrangements.
Funding and referral requirements can vary depending on the type of card held, accepted conditions and service being provided. Our team can help guide you through the next steps and referral requirements.
-
RehabX may support people recovering from workplace injuries where treatment has been approved through WorkCover Queensland or a self-insured employer.
Programs may focus on movement, strength, endurance, function, confidence and return-to-work goals.
Before commencing treatment under workers' compensation, claim details, approvals and referral information may be required.
-
Some clients may be able to access rehabilitation through alternative funding pathways, including:
Income protection insurance
Total and permanent disability insurance
Motor accident insurance outside NIISQ pathways
Other compensable injury claims
Third-party case management arrangements
Community care funding where applicable
Funding requirements vary between insurers, case managers and funding providers.
RehabX can provide service information, treatment plans, progress reports and quotes where required.
Helping You Navigate the Process
Funding can feel overwhelming, especially when you are also managing a neurological condition, injury or major change in function.
Our team can help you understand:
Which services may suit your goals
What referral information may be required
Whether reports or therapy plans are needed
How often therapy may be recommended
Whether technology-assisted rehabilitation may be suitable
What information your support coordinator, care partner, case manager or funder may require
Our goal is to make the process clear, practical and supportive so you can focus on what matters most - your rehabilitation.
