FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
At RehabX, we know that starting a new rehabilitation journey can raise plenty of questions. Here are answers to some of the most common ones.
-
RehabX brings together evidence-based therapies, advanced technology, and a team of experienced rehabilitation specialists under one roof. We focus on the whole person, physical, mental, and emotional health, to create progress that lasts.
-
Your rehabilitation journey begins with a comprehensive assessment. During this appointment, we take the time to understand your condition, medical history, goals, challenges, lifestyle, and the factors that may be impacting your recovery.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, our team looks at the whole picture, including movement, strength, balance, posture, breathing, function, and overall wellbeing.
Following your assessment, we develop a personalised rehabilitation plan that outlines the recommended therapies, technologies, and supports that may help you achieve the best possible outcomes.
-
We support people with a wide range of conditions, including neurological conditions (such as spinal cord injury, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease), musculoskeletal and complex injuries, disability-related needs, long-term health conditions, and those wishing to enhance their general health and wellbeing.
You can learn more about the conditions we support here.
Our programs are designed to restore independence, build strength, and improve life satisfaction.
-
RehabX brings together a multidisciplinary team and advanced rehabilitation technology under one roof to provide integrated, whole-person care.
Our services include physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, speech therapy, cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, podiatry, remedial massage, robotics-assisted therapy, and access to a specialist rehab gym.
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we take a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation, creating personalised programs that may combine multiple therapies, technologies and clinical disciplines to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.
-
RehabX combines advanced rehabilitation technology with expert clinical care to help people achieve the best possible outcomes.
Our technology suite includes robotic gait training systems, hand and upper limb rehabilitation devices, balance and mobility platforms, technology-assisted exercise equipment, and interactive assessment tools designed to support strength, movement, coordination, balance and functional recovery. You can learn more about our technology here.
These technologies are integrated into personalised rehabilitation programs and may be used alongside physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology and other allied health services. Every technology is selected because it supports evidence-based rehabilitation and helps people practise movements more effectively, track progress more accurately, and build greater independence.
Our philosophy is simple: technology is most powerful when it is guided by skilled clinicians and tailored to the individual needs of each person.
-
Yes. Telehealth can be a valuable option for clients who live outside Brisbane or require ongoing support after completing face-to-face rehabilitation.
Depending on your needs, telehealth appointments may be used for progress reviews, exercise progression, education, coaching, and ongoing guidance from your rehabilitation team. We will discuss whether telehealth is appropriate as part of your individual rehabilitation plan.
-
Every rehabilitation journey is different, and the length of your program will depend on your condition, goals, and progress.
Many clients begin with an initial 12-week rehabilitation pathway, allowing time for assessment, treatment, exercise progression, and measurable outcomes. Some people achieve their goals within this timeframe, while others benefit from ongoing support, maintenance programs, or periodic reviews to continue building on their progress.
Your rehabilitation plan will be reviewed regularly and adjusted to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
-
Not always. Private clients can often book directly with RehabX. However, some funding pathways, including Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, NIISQ and certain insurance arrangements, may require a referral, approval or supporting documentation.
If you're unsure, our team can help guide you through the process.
-
Many clients access RehabX through funding pathways such as the NDIS, aged care funding, NIISQ, DVA, WorkCover, insurance-funded services and other third-party arrangements.
Eligibility, approvals and funding requirements vary depending on the funding source, your individual circumstances and the services being provided. Our team can help you understand which options may be available and what information may be required.
-
Yes. Some clients choose to begin rehabilitation through private payment while waiting for NDIS, aged care, insurance or other funding decisions.
Depending on your circumstances, we can discuss the most appropriate pathway and help you understand your options.
-
Every recovery journey is different. Some people notice changes in a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support. We’ll review your progress regularly and adjust your plan as needed.
-
Our rehab gym is available to RehabX clients who have been assessed by our team and provided with an individualised exercise program.
Unlike a traditional gym, the RehabX gym is designed specifically for rehabilitation and functional recovery. Once your therapist is confident you can safely complete your prescribed exercises, you may be able to access the gym between appointments to continue working towards your goals under our guidance.
-
Yes, we provide rehabilitation and allied health services for people of all ages, including children and adolescents. Programs are tailored to developmental needs as well as individual goals.
-
Absolutely. We encourage the involvement of family, carers, and support workers. They’re an important part of your journey, and we’ll work with them to help achieve the best outcomes.
-
Yes, flexibility is part of our approach. If your circumstances change, we’ll adapt your program to suit your needs, whether that means pausing, adjusting, or changing focus.
-
In most cases, yes.
One of the reasons RehabX was created is because we believe that progress is always possible. We regularly work with people who have been told they have reached a plateau, exhausted their options, or simply need to "learn to live with it."
While we can never guarantee specific outcomes, our team takes a fresh, comprehensive look at each person's situation. By combining multidisciplinary expertise, advanced rehabilitation technology, evidence-based therapies and personalised treatment plans, we often identify opportunities that may not have been explored previously.
Our goal is not simply to treat a diagnosis, but to help you maximise your function, independence, confidence and quality of life. Even small improvements can have a meaningful impact on everyday living, and we believe every person deserves the opportunity to explore their potential.

If you’re living with a condition, injury, or disability and want to improve independence, strength, or wellbeing, RehabX may be right for you. Book an assessment here and we’ll guide you through your options with honest, transparent advice.
